FAQ's
Who Will Be Driving Houseboats/ Ski Boats?
Adults with boating experience will drive all houseboats/ ski boats. At no time will a student be permitted to drive.
What is a Houseboat?
A houseboat is kind of like a floating RV complete with a kitchen, bathroom, decks, water slide and more.
How many people are on the houseboats and where do people sleep?
Houseboats max out at 12 people per coast guard regulations. Our boats will have 2 adult leaders and 10 students all of the same gender. There are a limited number of beds so most people will sleep on the top deck of the boat using a sleeping bag and mattress pad. It's pretty amazing up there. You get to fall asleep looking at a billion stars.
Do I need to know how to swim to go on the trip?
It is highly recommended that you are comfortable swimming in an open water lake environment. If you do not know how to swim you will be required to wear a life jacket whenever you are in the water. Everybody will be required to wear life jackets when participating in ski boat activities. Life jackets are not required while on the houseboat.
What the food like? Can you accommodate special diets?
The food is always good at Young Life! Yes, we can accommodate most diets but you will need to let us know ahead of time!
Isn't it hot at Lake Havasu in June?
Yes, it will be warm but hey it's summer! And of course the houseboats have air-conditioning and the water is pretty refreshing that time of the year.
I heard Lake Havasu is pretty wild?
We are going to have some great Young Life style fun but nothing your grandma wouldn't approve of.
Let's be real. Is this thing safe?
Everything has risk but we will do everything to make sure everyone has a fun AND safe time.
Can I bring my little sister or brother?
